KPMG's Golf Travel Insights 2010 Reveals Trends in Golf Tourism; KPMG surveyed 120 golf tour operators in 41 countries to compile the data. According to the survey, the quality of golf courses remains the #1 reason golfers choose destinations. The survey concludes, "While Spain and Portugal remain the most popular destinations, followed by traditional golf markets of the UK, Ireland and the US, emerging destinations in the Southeast Mediterranean and Southeast Asia can become a success story if they follow a conscious and well planned development strategy." Martin Kaymer Takes Home The Wanamaker Trophy; In a three-hole playoff, the German golfer beat Bubba Watson to win the 2010 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits. Kaymer shot 72-68-67-70-277 to take the 92nd PGA Championship. With the victory he played his way onto the European Ryder Cup team and earned the final spot in the 2010 PGA Grand Slam of Golf in Bermuda.
