因为工作缘故，每天都在和不同的美国合作公司打交道。

以前虽然在美工作生活多年，但是都不是从高尔夫的角度来工作。现在越来越觉得，计划和准备做的越是得完善，施工花的时间就越少，施工过程中出岔子也越少。不得不佩服美国人研究和计划得能力。

下面的东西是我们公司的美国顾问机构针对草坪部建筑提出的一些意见和思路。在我们这个普遍“球童部比场地部更受重视”的大环境里，美国人与我们迥然不同的态度值得思考。

It is very important to plan for and design an efficient golf course maintenance facility for the 54-holes of golf at Kunming.  The overall planning and design recommendations below are based on a facility that can service a three (3) golf course, 54-hole facility.

对于昆明的54洞球场来说，设计一个能够高效管理场地部设备的场地部建筑非常重要。以下内容中提到的总体设计规划建议是基于美国一个54洞球场的场地部来提出的。

Because efficiency is obtained by creating an orderly traffic flow, it is necessary to analyze the flow to and from the facility.  Many factors are concerned, among them the separation of employee vehicles from other activities, visitors to the facility, outside service vehicles, and the maintenance vehicles themselves.Two operations at every golf maintenance facility deserve special study: fueling and washing vehicles.  Washing creates an offensive environment, while fueling is a major safety consideration.  Each operation is usually conducted at a separate location.  They do, however, have one aspect in common.  Both must be done to every piece of equipment every time it is used.  Therefore, upon entering the facility from the golf course, the equipment is usually driven to two separate locations.  This can create a complex traffic flow.  However, space will be saved and efficiency increased if the two activities are confined to one general area.  The combination fuel island/wash apron should be located directly in the traffic flow between the golf course and the building.

Designed parking spaces are important, too. Employees’ performance in driving maintenance vehicles is far more predictable when the operator knows exactly where they are to be parked. Past studies show time wasted when an employee cannot find a place to park his vehicle.  While this aspect of facilities planning may appear at first to be minor, it is one of the major contributing factors to the order so necessary to achieve efficient operations.

设计停车空间也是重要的。当员工清楚他们的设备机械需要停放在什么位置的时候，他们驾驶这些设备时也不容易出错。过去的研究显示，员工在找不到合适停放设备的位置的事情上浪费了很多的时间。这个问题有时候可能不是在规划时最先被考虑到的因素，但是对于实际工作的有效开展却常常起到了极大的作用。

Planning of space and creating traffic flow for equipment develops a sense of order that carries over to other activities.  Order reflects an attitude of management.  Attention to see that every activity has been studies conveys to the employees a sense of concern.  You will find that a positive attitude will prevail, and that the quality of the job performance will increase.

The maximum efficiency level of any operation is achieved when facility planning is applied.  If planned properly it can significantly affect golf course economics and a successful future.
