Ex-Chairman of GCSAA, past chairman of the Board of Regents for the National Institute of Golf Management (NIGM), GM in Torrey Pines, Organizer for US OPEN 2008, One of the 20 "Most Admired Golf Operators" in the USA by Golf Magazine, With 35-year golf management experience.

Woodward has been the golf operations manager for the City of San Diego, Calif., since February 2005. He oversees the two courses at Torrey Pines, as well as courses at Balboa Park and Mission Bay . Torrey Pines is scheduled to host the U.S. Open in 2008.

Woodward has been a guest speaker at numerous golf-related events including: GCSAA seminars, the USGA Regional Green Section Conference, the Crittenden Golf Expo, the Canadian Golf Business Conference, Southwest Turfgrass Association and the Michigan Golf Course Owners Association.
